What would your finances look like on the other side of this change?

Many people approaching a career transition find the financial side the least visible part of the picture. Crane Counsel courses bring it into focus — week by week, topic by topic, at a pace that suits working professionals.

What makes these courses worth your time

Built specifically for 40+ transitions

The financial considerations for someone in their 40s or 50s — MPF balances, insurance needs, family obligations — are different from those at 25. The courses start from where you actually are.

Hong Kong context throughout

MPF, salaries tax, the local cost of living, and the particularities of HK employment terms are woven into every module. Not imported frameworks repackaged for a local audience.

Financial groundwork, not career advice

The courses do not tell you what career to pursue. They help you understand the financial shape of any transition you are already considering — with clarity rather than pressure.

Paced for working adults

Each programme runs over several weeks with manageable session lengths. The format respects that participants often hold demanding roles while preparing for change.

Grounded, measured approach

No urgency tactics, no idealised case studies. The content reflects the actual complexity of mid-career financial decisions and treats participants as capable adults.

Confidential and independent

Crane Counsel does not sell financial products. The courses are educational. You receive frameworks and information — what you do with them remains entirely your decision.

Things people often ask before enrolling

Who are these courses designed for?
Professionals in their 40s and 50s who are facing or considering a significant career or work change — whether that is leaving a salaried role, starting a business for the first time, moving into a different sector, or stepping back from full-time work. The courses are most useful when there is a real decision in view, not as abstract financial theory.
Do I need a financial background to follow the material?
No specialist background is needed. The courses assume numeracy and general professional experience, but they are written for capable adults who want to understand their financial position — not for people who already work in finance.
Are the courses delivered in person or online?
Please contact us for current delivery details. We offer both in-person sessions at our Central office and online options for participants who prefer that format. Session schedules are arranged to accommodate working professionals.
Can I take the courses if I have not yet decided to change careers?
Yes. Many participants join at the stage of considering options, not having made a decision. Understanding the financial picture earlier — rather than after a choice is made — is precisely when the material is most useful.
Is my personal financial information shared during the course?
No. The courses work with frameworks, examples, and exercises — not your personal accounts or statements. What you apply to your own situation is entirely private. Crane Counsel does not request or store personal financial data from participants.
What is the refund policy?
Refund terms are provided at enrolment. In general, cancellations made more than seven days before the programme start date receive a full refund. Cancellations within seven days may be transferred to a future cohort. Please refer to the terms provided on enrolment for full details.
